This is too long for a "what have i done today" thread, so here it goes.

So i've been mesmerised by bimmer angel eyes for the longest time ever now. since i started working again, and getting a little money saved up i finally went in head first and bought a new set of sedan headlights and a set of Morimoto Mini h1 Projectors with Dual ccfl chrome shrouds kit. also spe bought a pair of clear die cut clear tint/vinyl for the headlights, for projection.

headlights, Fleabay special, $89 shipped.

Projectors and shrouds, since i bought my first projector kit from these guys they gave me a little discount, plus Terrence is super helpful. One of the blue ccfl rings broke during the original shipping so they rushed another one ALL THE WAY FROM OREGON, free! also bought a hardware kit for refurbishing my old retro kit from them. these guys are awesome. www.sportsautotech.com ,so $135 instead of $155.

Clear vinyl/tint, fleabay special $20 shipped, but if you email them a couple hi-res pics of the installation, they send you back 20 bucks! pretty sweet deal.
The ebay seller is: rvinyl_inc

So here it goes:

1. Bake the headlights open.
pretty self explanatory, set the owen on 200 def F, lay a kitchen towel inside, take out 3 screws on the back of the headlight that hold the clear lens on, put the headlight in, set the timer for about 6 minutes.

2. Separate the clear lens.
use 2 flathead screw drivers, go all the way around first to release all the tabs, then just separate the clear lens

3. Take out the Reflector.
unscrew 2 adjustments screws all the way out until the reflector comes out.

4. Figure out where and how the projectors is going to go in, and start DREMEL'ing it out.
as you can see in the following pictures, depending on the kind of projectors you get and the type of shrouds. you might need to cut either your shroud, your reflector or both, to make sure they are mated properly and securely.

(the bottom reflector is cut already, and the top one is avaiting is turn)

(i decided to go with the blackout scheme)

(u can see how big the shrouds are)

5. Optional: paint or wrap your reflectors and frames
i decided to black out both with satin/semi-gloss pain. I was going to wrap both in white CF vinyl, but got impatient.

6. Assemble & seal the headlights back together

7. Optional: apply the tint
just use soapy water, and a hair drier. work and stretch the tint around the compound curve of the lens.

And here is the end result. in conjunction with my 55W HID kit, its pretty dam bright now, still have to adjust it a little bit but that's details. and i got ANGEL EYES NOW!!

Looks terrific. Now let's see some pics of the cut off :)

The tint had a little of diffused texture to it so it distorts the cutoff but I did drive it around last night after install and there is a very clear difference between high and low beams.

oh and i was closing the shop today so i was bored!

since i had my old pair of retrofitted headlights laying around i decided to freshen them up

so what you think...

started out very foggy. then i decided to give it a little alternating theme. white reflectors, black bezels, white halos, black shrouds, white carbon fiber vinyl wrapped eyelids.

Those retro's look like beemer style. Tiggle bitties. Not sure I like the 2nd set you have though. Looks like you dressed them in a tuxedo lol if that makes sense.
