Mazdaspeed pads on p5?

I had a buddy who sold his p5 give me a set of pads he never put on the car. only problem is he had upgraded to the mazdaspeed front brakes... are the pads still the same or do i have useless pads?

I believe the msp front brakes use a bigger caliper. I think

Not going to work, unfortunately. The MSP caliper and rotor are larger.

I just developed a leak in my rr caliper, and was wondering this very question. Care to go a little deeper as to how the swap works?

Not sure exactly, I believe you need all the components including something with the e brake. Youre better off keeping the rears stock. Get oem calipers for our p5's get some good blank rotors, good pads and decent brake fluid. As for the fronts, you can do a straight drop in swap of Mazda 6 brakes. This only works for the front and you cannot use mazdaspeed 6 brakes as they are too big.

so i decided to try the fitment anyway and guess what, they fit!!! mazdaspeed protege front brake pads will indeed fit on a p5
