Mazda Factory CarPlay/Android Auto Retrofit keeps disconnecting on 2018 CX-9

Hi, I installed a Mazda factory retrofit for car play and android auto.
For car play it will disconnect randomly and you need to unplug and plug in the phone again.
For android auto the disconnects happen but the phone auto connects.
Any ideas on what I can try?
Firmware is up to date.
Used oem cord.
Is there a way to test the hub?
Should I roll back firmware?
Could the hub be bad?
Sometimes it works for an hour other time it loops every 2 minutes.

I have a 2018 CX-9 signature and have similar issue. CarPlay will disconnect about 5 minutes when started but once reconnected, It stays connected for the most part. I read somewhere that it might have something to do with corrupt memory card map.

mine doesn't seem to stay connected. Was your hub oem?

No, I updated the hub to the newer models in order to get carplay to work.
