Well.. sad ending I suppose and I felt the need to vent a little about it as well. *sigh* Well, I traded it in back in November 2009 and the dealership sold it through an auto auction. I found it listed on CL by a private person, so I sent him a message and told him all about the car. He seemed happy about it all, and I figured he would learn what he could and take care of it. Today I found it listed for sale at a dealer (where he works I guess) and it was noted that the car had the turbo removed. Freaked out, I messaged the guy to see what was up, because it really should not be running without a turbo with that engine. Turns out he was racing on the hwy going 140 mph with it, lost oil pressure and blew the engine. That beautiful forged engine that cost so much for me to build, UGH. He had a Unichip on the car, thinking that was good enough. The car needed a standalone, not a darn Unichip. So to go the cheap route, he stuck in a stock engine from a regular Protege and made it N/A. I have to say my feelings are hurt a little, I expected him to take care of the car, not kill it. Just sad. Too busy racing people to worry about taking care of the car, getting it tuned and a standalone added on like it needed. Really sucks to find this out, poor car. *sigh* (sad2)

That sucks. My story is the exact opposite. I took care of it but never went anywhere with it. The next owner found me on here. We're great friends now. He's got the 03.5 wing on it, forged, and FMIC.

Sorry to hear it lady. No friggin' bueno.

damn that sucks. That's kind of why I would be scared to sell mine locally if I ever did. One of two options if I ended up selling would be to sell the car on the forum or return to stock, put in stock motor and part out aftermarket goodies on the forum, built engine included. It's a lot of work, but I would rather see money spent put to good use with knowledgeable people. If worse came to worse, I would sell the car locally but definitely keep in touch with the new owner and point him/her in the right direction and keep tabs on the car. It's really sad to see things like this happen to our cars, especially with how rare they become as each and every day passes.
