Are the Hydraulic Self adjusting lifters from the older generation engines compatible with...say...the newer FS09 head? Or are they incompatible and they MUST use the Solid Shim-on-tappet design for lifters?

i didnt know that the older fs had hydraulic lifters. but then again i could be wrong.

I have a NEW set of hydraulic lifters I can use in my rebuild. Really just to save cost on buying new shims for the OE lifters. Especially when I have 16 brand new, never used, self adjusting lifters right here. Just curious if they'll cause me any problems...

They are technically slightly less stable under very high boost and high rpms but I'm sure you won't have any problems. As far as I can tell the hydraulic lifters fit the newer cylinder head, at least one probe owner with an FS converted his hydraulic head to solid lifters so I'm assuming backwards compatibility is possible.

Well, it's NA for the time being
.020" overbore forged pistons
K1 forged rods
competition valve cut
ZE cams

but it won't ever see above the stock rev limit, so I'm guessing they should do just fine.
