Just another CWP '13 ms3

its a daily driver and my first new car so just very mild mods right now. Current goal is 300whp on 93octane with th stock turbo which should be easily attainable. From there its koni's, springs (undecided), and a RSB. Some sort of front lip (i am thinking sti v-limited) and probably a single defrost vent gauge pod. Not sure what else from there but that should keep me plenty busy for a while and quite happy. Depending on how long i keep the car i may eventually go to a bnr s3 and methanol mix (e85 isnt easily available in my typical driving)

Got my *correct* cobb ap tonight and just fooled around with the pre loaded stage 1+ 93octane map and some data logging. nice little kick in the pants but will be loading on the stage 1 stratified tune tomorrow and patiently await the autotech internals

Mounted the Cobb AP today using a gopro windshield mount and some left over gopro mounts i wasn't using. Going to buy a spare switch knock out and modify it so it looks better (want to keep stuff around in unmodified condition just in case i have to go back stock for whatever reason). Loaded the stage 1 stratified tune and it feels better than the stage1+ cobb tune, been keeping an eye on the fuel pressure and the lowest it has hit at WOT is 1589 so still pretty safe and that was only once (it was above 1600 at all times besides that with no KR)

Also got the license plate mod today lol. They sent me one of the new crappy GA plates and i cant stand the two new designs they have. Went with the Zoo Atlanta tag since i already have the panda in the back window and the g/f calls the car Po.

JBR boost tubes and BPV hose in red will be here tomorrow. Picked them up this past weekend since they were giving away EGR kits for free for presidents day and i was going to do that anyway.

Nice job, car is looking good! Can't wait to see it. Plates look better than our Ohio plates, which are going to uglier in April.

I absolutely hate the new Georgia plates. You can still get the "classic" plate with just the peach in the center, but I went with a Falcons plate.

Edit: And how is the back of your car so clean!? Mine always looks like it's been splattered with black spray paint from all the exhaust soot.

Very nice!! You've done quite a bit of mods so far! Have you decided if you're going to lower it or not? Also, great job on that AP/go pro mount. I'm thinking of getting the JBR mount when mine arrives next week.

Yeah GF got the white GA plate, the dealer sent my the other crap ones so thought i would use the opportunity to go this route. Car was washed last friday but trust me the picture just doesn't show the black spray paint splatter yet its there.

It will be lowered eventually no idea what springs i will be using but since its a huge chunk of money in one shot (springs, shocks, camber arms) its going to be a little bit. I like the JBR mount but i think what really turns me off is you need to drill holes in the center console.

all kinds of goodies got unpacked tonight, internals and CS Occ came in today. Not sure if i want to slum it and actually install it tomorrow in my driveway or just wait until monday and use the lift at work.

Mind if I ask what you paid?

for which part?

the jbr pipes are new but i got in on the special with the free EGR block off, the test pipe is an ebay part brand new, the autotech internals was part of a bundle with my cobb AP you will have to get a hold of maperformance or edge autosport for their bundle price, and the corksport occ was bnib that i found being sold for $120 shipped

because i work across the street from the dealer i recieved employee cost plus whatever incentives mazda is giving at the time. Those incentives change monthly plus you have to account for how long the car has been on the lot (the longer its been there the cheaper it is) most people are getting theirs in the 25k range or so

Had some time last night after work and installed the ebay test pipe, JBR boost tubes, JBR bpv hose, and Autotech fuel pump internals.

The fuel pump internals installed really easily, not sure why everybody makes a big deal about installing these. Went in super easy and with just a couple drops of oil it all went together perfectly and slipped right back into place. Watching the pressures there is a significant difference with the new internals, before i could peak at around 1800psi at full boost and wide open throttles now i am getting 1700-1800 psi at cruising with partial throttle. Tried some WOT stuff last night and was getting peaks of 1875psi but with the rain it was hard.

Car sounds absolutely awesome with the test pipe and the resonator delete i already had, don't really see a need for any thing else on the exhaust side of things.

Just flashed the stage2+ Stratified map today and got to really give it a drive, seeing peak pressures of over 2000psi now with the new internals and the car gets moving pretty good. James Barone Racing is also having a 10% off sale so i couldn't pass it up and ordered a RSB (Mazda also sent me $100 for referring a friend to buy his '13 mz3 hatch)

Took a vid of the new exhaust setup as well:

Installed the Corksport OCC today, install was pretty straight forward just time consuming. we will see how much crud it collects at my first oil change in 2000miles

More updates and parts installs. This should hold me over for a little while as the car feels and drives awesome at this point, still looking to hit my goal of 300whp and do some suspension stuff but i have plenty of time to get that done.

Did the first oil change switching over to Rotella T6, emptied out the catch can for the couple of hundred miles that it was on the car (good amount of water with some oil mixed in came out), and i took even further advantage of the JBR sale he was having and picked up a Chromoly dogbone RMM to replace the SURE mount. The new RMM has a lot more vibration but it feels a lot more solid when really getting on it. Also got my calvin vinyl in (had one on my cars for years now) and the JBR rear sway bar showed up today, took about 30minutes to install even though it had to actually do it on my garage floor. No more massive understeer when throwing it into corners and i only have it set on the middle hole right now.

Man what a great build thread. I noticed you already replaced the SURE product. I was going to post something about that after reading your first post, but you already knew :p

You should get beefier end links for the RSB. The OEM links are so thin.

I bought these end links from CorkSport, to go with my James Barone RSB.

Installed the Ebay Subaru STi V-limited lip last week. It was a decent sized pain to get it installed, Lots of heat, pulling and having to cut off the ends. Though it was worth it, really helps the look of the front of the car and cant really beat it for $62 shipped from ebay.

Also got another video of the exhaust coming down the street when the g/f took the car out:
