I iz newbie

Well, looks like my dreams of keeping my warranty in reach and seeing the gains I wanted might not happen. I called a big tuning shop who referred me to ProtogeGarage and I emailed him with my questions and I got what I thought was a solid, albeit disappointing response: "Be carful what you read on the forums. Alot people there have the all
or nothing mentality where it's go big or go home. I can tell you
from experience a few things on this car. One, the accessport
absolutely makes a noticeable difference even without a stage 2 map.
Second, the hypertech is a great unit for people looking to do small
scale bolt ons or basic modifications which would enhance the
drivability of the car. Getting 300 whp without removing the
catalytic converters is not feasible. Your best bet is a top mount
intercooler replacement, downpipe or test pipe, tune from an
accessport and a few more psi of boost. If you're truly concerned
about warranty, then realistically speaking you should stop where you
are, grab a hypertech and enjoy the benefits of that. I've worked and
still do work for a dealership. They will use whatever excuse they
can to void your warranty if you have a major problem. Manufacturer
reps do make visits to dealers when an engine blows, and despite all
the big talk on forums about going back to stock and tricking the
dealer or raising hell to get concessions, trust me when I say those
are exceptions not the norm.

Test pipe, intercooler and a tune will be safe and make good power.
Will it void your warranty? Possibly."

It's definitely possible. You've just gotta find a mod friendly dealer. Also, you won't hit 300 just by turning up the boost. You're going to need to up the timing and do other various tuning goodies to get there

It depends on where you're at. I don't think there's a definitive list anywhere, but I know that the guys on MSF know all about it. I've given up on warrantying my car, so I don't keep track

Love the speed-only mods, very well done.

Out of curiosity, do you have any drag slips?

I can imagine it's hard to control ~500whp on launch ;)

Are you left or right lane?

A fast 3, very nice.

You are putting more power down than my 09 Vette with bolt-ons. I would love to line up with you at the track.
