How do I remove the rear view mirror?

I've got a rear view mirror with a compass/outside temp and I need to replace it. I've got the replacement mirror but I can't figure out how to take the broken one off.

yeah! has anyone done this before, upgrading to Auto-Dimming with Compass & Temp Rear View Mirror.. i've been planning to get them too, some question though..

Is the LED green and not red like our interior lights so that it would match all the lights?

..unless this is a complete bolt on replacement like what the diagram in http://protege5.ugly.net/09-12.PDF looked..!!
