High Idle at start up, etc.

My 2007 cx-7 revs at 2000 rpms at start up, in any weather, IF the engine is cold, until I put it into another gear. Is THAT normal? I'm concerned b/c if I let my foot off the brake too quick it lurches. Someone told me the TPS(?) might be "sticking" and to spray it with WD-40...............?

Also, when I turn the engine off it squeaks a couple times within the first 30 seconds the engine has stopped. Like something rotating maybe? It's not the fan running.

Help! These seem like silly things to pay a mechanic for...

Normal to rev to 2,000 or 2,200 on cold start up. I alway let the idle drop to ~ 1,000 rpm before puting in gear.

Thank you! That's great news! I am curious why some vehicles do that and not others... My last 2 have been 6 cylinder small suv's and I never had that happen. Is it the turbocharger?
