Flat spots! ABS problem?

so i was doing about 70 around one of those swooping freeway overpasses and as i come around the corner traffic is a dead stop. I slammed on the brakes and spun the wheel. the car came sideways but luckily I didn't hit anything!

Now after that i noticed i have flat spots in my front two tires. I thought that I had ABS and that ABS would prevent mass amounts of rubber from being filleted off my tires(i know thats not its main purpose). So am i wrong or is my ABS not working for some reason?

If the car is sliding sideways ABS does you no good. It only works if the car is moving forward (or backwards I guess).

The ABS "thinks" you are just sitting still. The only thing that could have prevented the flatspotting was to have not been going so fast that you had to slide sideways to prevent wadding up your car or someone else. Slow down and look ahead.

thanks i din't think about that.
and ill drive ten under the speed limit from now on officer! (chair)
