#4 rod bearing spun @ 224 miles on the new engine. The rod is wrecked and the head has to come off. The rod nuts didn't exhibit any lack of torque upon removal, so that wasn't the cause. Basically, a complete bottom end rebuild is in order.

I'll let the pics speak for themself:

#2 rod bearing was significantly scarred:

#4 and 5 mains weren't so good either:

The oil pump shows signs of scarring and has steel bits within (likely ingested after the fact):

Fortunately, I have sourced a complete short block. I'll be picking it up this Friday hopefully. Parts to put everything back together arrive Thursday. A complete rebuild back to SP spec will have to wait a little bit, but this solution will be enough to carry me through for a while.

that sucks thats some hella damage, i had spun the bearings in cyl#4 in my car in may too haha. good luck with the build though

And boom goes the dynamite

Any idea what caused that yet? Did the oil presures look at all out of whack...being captain obvious here but seeing as several bearings went its like it wasn't getting oil to certain parts of the engine.
