Hey guys...im looking to upgrade my 02 P5 cup holder to the 03P5 style cup holder and found one at a local junkyard...can someone please advise me how to remove the cup holder? I read a post somewhere on this forum that all you need to do it trim the bottom piece and there will be no gaps from the new style cup holder. Can someone confirm this? I am assuming i can only change out the cup holder and do not need to change out the whole center console? Please advise?

Just yank it out, it will sit a little higher though. The entire console is required for it to fit 'correctly' but it works fine
just use both hands, make sure to pull the ebrake up so it's not in the way. put your hands in the cupholders (one in each hand) and pull towards the rear of the car at a 45* angle. I cant tell you how many times I remove my to clean, lol honestly like once a week.
