I know you are suppose to place your foot on the brake pedal before you push the starter/stop button to start the engine, but my wife insists, that I should NOT keep my foot on the brake pedal, once the engine button is pressed again to turn the vehicle off. Does this harm the car in any way, to have your engine turned off but yet still have your foot resting on the brake pedal? Because the green light on the button comes back on, she thinks it's confusing the computer... Is it ok to leave my foot on the brake pedal, once the engine has been turned off, or should I remove my foot right away?

Seriously?

There is no harm being done pressing pedals with the engine off.

You're not confusing the computer. The green light simply means that if you wanted to restart your car, the start button is ready.

A good female friend of mine took me out on a MX track for the first time (20+ years ago on a cr500 BTW) and happens to own and run a great local auto repair shop. There are many kick as$ women in the car industry.
