Hello,

Does anyone know where I can get an after market install kit for my Mazda XCX9? I am considering a pioneer double din unit. But, I cannot seem to find any online.

thanks

Does anyone know if there has been any headway on the installation kit for the CX-9? I saw the one they have for the CX-7. Would that kit be compatible with the CX-9? I also want to get a Pioneer double din unit.

thanks

can someone get me that link for the cx-7? The one above doesn't work. I am looking for that double din kit for my friend's cx-7

An enterprising, pioneering legend here in Sydney, who goes by the name of scrytch online, has a Kenwood system fitted to his CX-9 now and we are just waiting for the final photos.

He had the installers custom build the double DIN kit and while I thought that was an expensive way to go, they have built it with the INFO, CLOCK buttons from the original unit, which is a big plus!

His install has headrest screens, bluetooth, satnav, ipod.
Go to http://www.ozmazdaclub.com/forum/cx-7-cx-9-bravo-tribute-bt-50-discussion/4650-satellite-navigation-cx-9-a-8.html for a look.

I will be hard on his heels.

A friend of mine sells and installs car stereos and remote starters, and one of his customers is a Mazda dealer. He tells me there is no kit yet for the CX-9 but to expect one before too long due to the popularity of the vehicle. I asked if there was a problem with the radio being tied into the climate control display and he said no, Ford has several models like that and most have a kit that works around it.

So I talked with Colin from Metra today while at Spring Break Nationals in Daytona today. I got the same answer as the previous poster about it bieng integrated. I explained it wasn't and he asked me to send pics and possibly let them hold my radio to do what they need to do. In return I will get to "TEST" the 1ST one.

I will send him the pics tommorow and keep you guys posted on the progress as well as pics when I get it of a single din and double din installed!

UPDATE...
I recieved this email today (less than an hour of sending pics)

also included is my email with a link to the pics I sent him of the radio un installed

Thanks a bunch Rickie! I will get some parts a.s.a.p. and start the
design process. Please keep in mind that this process will take several
months and depending on upper management decisions, could take more.
I'll be in contact with you during it all.

Colin,

I hope I got your name right and am sending this to the right address.
My name is Rickie, I spoke to you at SBN on Sunday about the kit for a
Mazda CX~9. I have a link to my photo gallery just look under radio and
there are 25 pics. If you need more or a specific shot just let me know
and I can usually upload it with in an hour or so.

I have also included a link to four threads on the main Mazda forum
where people have asked for a kit. I posted that you will be working on
one soon and I will relay all conversations we have to keep them in the
loop.

If you need me to I will ship you my radio if need be to help.

The only bad thing I have learned is that if you change the radio you
can not change the time that is on the display up top. Feel free to
contact me via email or phone I recieve my emails on my phone and will
reply within an hour.

Hello folks,

I went to my dealers today because of a custom nav system they built in a new CX-9 here in Holland.

Only thing missing is the way to change time on the clock and there is no longer info on the media being played (obviously).

I'll keep you posted when I get prices, specs etc.

The used system is a pioneer avic 700. The dealer told me almost every pioneer or kenwood system should work with the steeringwheel interface used in this.

With this pioneer unit everything is included bluetooth, nav, cd, ipod integration and also the ease of dialing numbers from your head unit .......I think also its got like 10-20gig hard disc space (not 100%) sure.

If theres a fascia kit around I too will also look at getting this in my CX-9 here in Australia.
