How many miles has your Mazda2 traveled?

Just replaced the water pump, thermostat, radiator, alternator and idler pulley at 223,000 miles. Here's to another 100,000. The Mazda2 has been phenomenally reliable for me.

How Many Miles Are On Your 2 (???)

69,594 miles. Only very minor issues... some early on... then none for years... and now some really minor stuff. Early on: Squeaky rear shocks, radio wouldn't work when it was sub 30 degrees. Both fixed under warranty (and there were TSB's for both). More recently: I'm having issue with...

Welcome. Check out CorkSport for pretty much everything on your list. Maybe hit up Font Motorsports for wheels. Enjoy the 2. It's a great little car.

Mazda2 reliability discussion. How is your Mazda2 holding up?

Model Year - 2011 Mileage - 64,106 (I think I win?) Daily Driver - See above Race - Certainly Not Officer (ditto, cosh68) Long Road Trips - Couple trips from MD to New York state (600 ish round trip) Mods - Aftermarket brakes at 50K (because the stocks vibrate), Boomerang armrest and a shorty...

    Mazda 2 Steel Wheels

Hey, this is slightly off topic, but is there any way that you can hook us up with an exact weight on a stock steelie? I know I've seen guesses and estimates, but I'd love to know exactly what one of those wheels weigh for the purpose of shopping for aftermarket options.

    Brake shakes

Hey, John. It's honestly about a 50/50 split between city and non-city/Highway. It might lean slightly more to the highway side. I don't brake very hard for the most part. I try to coast up to lights and stop signs as a general rule. My original vibration wasn't preceded by an sort of...

    Brake shakes

The problem with the stock equipment isn't warpage, it's deposits left on the crappy rotors by the crappy pads. I had the same problem for the 40K mile life of the stock brakes. Every 2 weeks or so it would start to shake. I'd go out and do 3 hard stops from 60mph to 30mph followed by 3 hard...

    Replacement brake rotors/pads?

I just switched to Hawk Street pads and Centric Rotors from Good-Win Racing. My only gripe is that the street pads are a little noisy. It's just a biproduct of using a harder compound pad in a car that insulates road noise like... not at all. As far as the feel and function, I'm extremely...

    Ginding/pop noise when starting off....

It's probably just the TCS self-calibrating.

    New Wheels installed today

I'm running into the same problem with my local installer. Base price is 15.95 each, but that 60 series and above. 55 series jumps to 18.95 each, plus 2ea for rubber valve stems, 3ea disposal fee, and.... wait for it... 10 each for TPMS service. So that comes to 33.95 per wheel or 135.80...

I second all of the above.

Brake Grinding? Braking, clutch down, changing gears/neutral, and vibration in brake

It's definitely the TCS. I know exactly what you are talking about. It's one of the quirkier systems on the car. You're spot on with the TCS kicking in when you hit a bump in neutral with pressure on the brake pedal, but I've also experienced the TCS kicking in during simple things like...

    Windshield Washer fluid pump failure?

Well, I went ahead and pulled all the relevant fuses to check for a blown fuse. I didn't find any that were blown..... however, after doing this I tried the washer fluid and it works now. I have no idea what that was about. I didn't work for like a week, but it's fine now. I hope this isn't...

    Windshield Washer fluid pump failure?

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I definitely wasn't just sitting on it for minutes at a time. Once I realized it was out, I probably pulled the trigger twice before filling it, forgetting that it was empty. But like you said, nothing that would qualify as punishment. The pump makes no noise...

    Windshield Washer fluid pump failure?

Long story short: I ran out of washer fluid, refilled the reservoir, and now there is nothing coming out of the jets when I pull on the wiper control arm. Here's my question: I the general consensus that I burned the pump out by running the reservoir dry. I could have sworn there was a...
