    all 4 windows frozen

Anyone ever tried a silicone spray on the rubber? Here in Quebec - it does little miracles. I use the one sold for garage doors. Since I MUST use an access card for the parking lot - I have tried many methods. Silicone spray is the best I have found. Phratt

YES or NO - 16 inch steel rims

Hi, and the guy seemed lost about the steelies and suggested getting them direct at the dealership That is because their charts say 17 inches. Their charts do not even give the pressure to which the bolts will be torked (90 pounds from source: Mazda dealer). At Costco Anjou, the mechanic...

YES or NO - 16 inch steel rims

Hello everyone, Thank you all for your answers. I have had installed 225/70-16 tires on Mazda5 16 inch steelies. The space between the front wheel calipers and the rim is tight - a small rock (1/8 th inch) can get stuck in between. If this does happen, with your results + my searches - I...

    Gas mileage question

Hi everyone, I'll just add my 2 cents to this thread... I own a CX-5 - 6Mt - FWD. Had about 5500Km (about 3400 Miles) on the ODO before the trip. Filled up the gas tank in Plattsburgh, reset all the counters, got on I-87 - destination : New Jersey. Did some sight seeing with the car in...

    Gas mileage question

Hi, My CX-5 / 6SpM / FWD has 1493Km (927.7 Miles) on the ODO. I can honestly say that I do not drive it hard, the numbers will confirm. This is : 85% city driving in Montreal stop and go traffic (average speed of 25 Km/h), 15% highway driving at an average speed of 100Km/h (62 MPH)...

Stick shift - brake release +500 RPM ??

Hi JNT, That is a real good answer - logical. After reading the entire thread, I seem to have failed to give out one piece of information about this "thing" - after 30 minutes of stop and go traffic, it still does the +500 RPM when my foot is taken off the brakes. My CX-5 has 600Km on the...

Stick shift - brake release +500 RPM ??

Hello everyone, I called my dealer to get some information. Here is what they had to say they say they never heard of this problem they say they do not know this model (CX-5) yet they say it is not supposed to do that they say it might be a tool of some sort they also said that they never...

Stick shift - brake release +500 RPM ??

I do not think it's the normal vacuum reaction (+/- 100RPMs) If I hold the brakes - clutch to the floor, the RPMs are as steady as one can expect. When I let go of the brakes (clutch still to the floor) RPMs go up +500. If I do not press on the brakes, goes back down to idle 1-2 seconds...

Stick shift - brake release +500 RPM ??

Hello everyone, I noticed something on my stick shift CX-5... Canadian version. Let's say I'm stopped at a light. One foot on the clutch, the other on the brake. The engine is on idle. When I release the brakes, the RPM goes up 500 RPM for a second or two. Then drops back to idle. After...

Sky Blue or Zeal Red Mica?

Hi, I live in Quebec, Canada. I've asked myself the same question. Went to the dealer (the day the delivery truck came) and asked him to park a red beside a blue one. For my likings - I preferred the red one. For the likings of my wife and friends - they like the red one better in real life...

Debating about 48,000km service (30k miles) Any Mazda techs that can advise?

DANG !!!! Did they rotate the tires front to back leaving the rims as they were on the car, and then balance the wheels!! This is a perfect example of something that we can all do ourselves. 20 screws, one jack and one car support, and a tiny bit of perspiration. The more we learn, the more...
