I don't think it will restart but I'll try, and for the cold start issue how did you correct it?? I had one that need a tack signal wire installed....

I would just stick with the Mazda unit....

You might have to replaced cluster or have the cluster reprogramed???

there is aftermarket kits you can buy to have running light on almost any car out there...

I just install one on a car today....whats happening with the car, if its not staying running it can need a tack wire kit...let me know, I think I know the mazda kit very well....

the Mazda block heater is mounted on the block under the manifold driver side...

I would do the factory remote start....I've installed a few without any isues...
