ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

haven't been in here in a long time... no need to since I don't have the 5 anymore, but I thought I would leave a 1-1/2 year impression of the Journey. still a great vehicle, with only 25,000 miles on it. I average only 19mpg combined, and have gotten as high as 28 highway only. The V6 engine...

found out why gas gauge wasn't working...(pic)

prior to this picture being taken there was a huge pile of fluff there (mouse nest). Little bastard chewed through the wires. I'm thankful it was an easy fix. this happen to anyone else? someone told me I should put dryer sheets in there to keep them out this winter. Anyone know if...

    Miata Roll Call

replaced the original tan top on my old girl with a black one. Also added a front lip. and I got tired of the wind blocker on my style bar from moving around (the velcro didn't keep it in place), so I tapped two holes and put these little brackets on. fixed:

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

oh my gosh! - the Journey is SO nice. The girlfriend and I could not be happier right now. I bought one pretty loaded, with Alpine stereo with touch screen, nav, satellite, rear view camera, 19" wheels, sunroof, of course the three row seating, tint, 115 volt power converter, 12v power outlets...

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

nope, all done working on the 5... it's just one thing after another. I haven't even listed all the things I've fixed myself. And yes, I have the money to fix the 5, I never said I didn't, I said I was tired of all the suspension noise, and constant repairs. Didn't say I couldn't afford the...

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

so far the haggling at the dealer is going well. He offered me $9300 for my '07 5 with 65k miles. No complaints there. KBB.com says trade-in should be about $1000 more than that. I've never had a dealer give me the going rate on trade in though. only problem so far is that I have come to...

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

all this talk just made me realize I have not done my research on just what is trade in value for my car. Gotta do that.

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

believe me, I know buying a new car is not a guaranteed end to maintenance problems. Just as buying the 5 did not answer my Focus woes. I've never kept a car past 5 years, and this one is 4 years old, so I'm only a little ahead of my usual trade-in schedule. and yes, I know that trade-ins are...

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

I didn't have the hub replaced. I can't hear it, and the car drives fine. They asked me; "don't you hear the "whah-whah-whah" sound?" I don't hear anything except the sway bar bushings. Heck, everyone can hear them, hahaha. I didn't have them do any of the repairs in fact because I don't...

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

yup, definitely not going to get a full sized couch in the Journey (see my picture of couch in 5)... but like with any switch to a different car, there are advantages and disadvantages. the KYB switch never was an option, cuz as you can imagine, the problem was out of control. The first time...

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

I came up with a fix for all of my 5's ailments.... I'm getting rid of it tomorrow. Buying a new Dodge Journey. Very nice car. Hope it's more reliable than the 5.

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

yayyy, not only are the sway bar bushings squawking, but the front struts are leaking, and the right front hub needs replacing. to make matters worse they had none of the parts in stock, so the car has to go in again next week. this car has been in the garage quite a bit in it's 62,000 miles.

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

yes, dealer has been doing all these repairs under warranty. Good thing I bought the extended warranty, but ya, if they keep using crap parts, the pain is in the having to take it back over and over again.

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

mine originally only squeaked in the winter, but now it's reversed, and it was quiet all winter long, but is squeaking the loudest it ever has with the new warm weather. you folks are probably right and my dealer is either using crap parts or just doing a grease job. either way, this has...

ugh, rear sway bar bushings squeaking AGAIN (going in for third "fix")

this car is really annoying me. It's a shame too, because I like the actual car, it's size, versatility, etc. But it's eaten three sets of rear shocks in 52k miles, and now has to go in for the chuck wagon-loud rear sway bar squeaking for the third time. I can't stand it. Why can't they...
