sweet, the CEL is off now. but now every time coming to a stop the engine RPM goes way down (below 400). it also does the same shifting into neutral. any more ideas?? Thanks

well i just found a bunch of cracks in my intake tube which seems to have taken care of most of the idle problem(still a little more rough than i'd like.) BUT the check engine light is still on. I cant remember if i have to reset something or if its still something else.???? Thanks

oil When you pull the dip stick out is there oil on it?? If its a thiner orange'y looking color its the trans fluid.

Yah, I took my 95 protege up to Shucks to see if they could read the codes for my check engine light, but the guy said that thier obd 2 tester wouldnt work. So he said to put a paperclip in a specified test port of the car and the check engine light will flash a certain number of times and go on...

Ya, I think i have the same porblem too! It's like a knocking sound only when you axcelerate turning form a stop. I thought it was my axle but couldn't find any sign of damage or brokenness. could it be the U-joints?

Hey, I saw a bunch of these on ebay selling for 5 - 20 dollars and looked into it more. I found out that the chip is just a group of resistors that atach to your intake sensor that trick your ECU into thinking its 37 degs. I was just curious if anyone knew to resistor values for a 95 protege...
