There is no smell, and no oil leaking from the transfer case, it is bone dry.

Well I followed the procedure as outlined and the rear shaft did not turn, looks like another bad transfer case. What pisses me off is I have owned this vehicle less than 3 months, guessing it was bad when I bought it. Lucky me...

I'm at work now, so I will check this out tomorrow, one question though, if the transfer case does need to be replaced is this something I can do myself? Or does it require special tools that only dealers have.

I try this and see what I come up with, one question when they say propeller shaft, are they talking about the drive shaft? Or the axle shaft (the shafts between the diff and wheels) Thanks...

I forgot to mention, the light on the dash lights up and flashes for about 10 seconds, then goes out. Like if the road is wet and I accelerate hard.

I have an 2008 CX9, only have owned it a few months. We just had our first snow last week, and it seemed like the rear wheels would not spin. So i checked and they do not spin , just the fronts. The transfer case is dry, no leaks, and the drive shaft to the rear diff. does turn, going forward...

I got some TPMS on eBay for $59, General Altramax artic tires from Tirebuyer, just need to find some time to put them on the 9.

I went ahead and purchased 2 new HID low beam lamps and the new ones are lighting up the road a lot better than the original lamps. Not really sure if they are projecting light further down the road, they seem to be, but the light is defiantly brighter. I would recommend replacing your HID lamps...

Just did my plugs today, on my 2008 CX9, GT. Went really well, you don't need to remove the battery, or any brackets, or fishnet covered hose behind it. Don't even need to unplug the wires on the throttle body. Took about 1.5 from start to finish.

A friend of mine just gave me a set of 17 x 7 inch wheels that fit my cx9. So that should save me some coin, so now just need tires. Looking at General altramax artic tires .
