Questions on OBDII scanner for 03 Protege

The check engine light came on in my car so I decided to get an OBDII scanner so I can check the code myself, rather then pay a mechanic $80+ to check it. I want to get a USB one that plugs into my laptop, preferably as inexpensive as possible without being a total piece of junk. I read that...

    Location for Tweeters?

I had holes cut in my A pillars for them. They are Alpine Type R and are pretty big, I'd say 2" across.

    Which fuse did I blow?

I was working on the wiring for my stereo and now the following don't work: Stereo, keyless entry (but the power locks still work), Interior lights on ceiling, beep when car door is opened while lights are on. When I push the rear defroster button I hear a click that sounds like it's coming...

What tools to cut a hole in plastic for speakers?

I tried several places for my tweeters using two sided tape, and in the end I decided to put them in the kick panels. My mid-woofers are in the stock locations in the doors. I don't want to get custom fiberglass pods made just for the tweeters, so I'm planning on cutting a hole in the stock kick...

    6x9s in a msp

I don't think positive and negative matter with speakers, but I could be wrong. I wouldn't recommend getting 6x9's though. What's the reason you're getting them? To make the system louder overall or add more bass?

    Best way to install tweeters

I would recommend getting some components with an external crossover that can be installed like coaxials, like these: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=5828 and then getting a 6x8 adapter. That's what I would do if I didn't already have these Type R's.

    Best way to install tweeters

I just received the Alpine Type R 6.5" components I ordered. I thought the 6x8 adapters that came with them would have spots for the tweeters, but they don't. So now I'm faced with the dilemma of where I am going to put those tweeters. I have an 03 Protege Sedan and don't have the stock...

Mazda 2 caught in the US

Add the Acura EL/CSX to that list (Acura version of the Civic). The Canadian market is much more receptive to small cars. Though I'm not sure why Toyota is still not selling Scions here.

My Protege doesn't have air conditioning. Can I install it?

If it's dealer only then I'm guessing it's expensive. Any idea on the price?
