With all the talk about hypermiling on the cleanmpg.com forums, I pumped up the 5's tire pressure to 42psi all around after they were warmed up. Max pressure is rated at 44psi w/max load. The car is at half a tank right now with 250 miles traveled. I'll see how much better mileage it will...

My 5 has gotten 30mpg avg when driven conservatively. I never had any bad mileage numbers even when the car was brand new.

My 5 does have the manual transmission. The hesitation makes it feel as if you let the clutch out too soon. I can't comment on any automatics having this issue. So will Mazda issue a recall on this problem?

Joeboy, I don't have any "how-to" pics. I just started pulling things apart, and got the unit out. It only requires a screwdriver, however. The silver covering is separate from the radio. Once that was out, I used tape (sounds tacky) to secure that Sirius car kit dock to it. Funny you got...

This is what I have Buy the Sirius Car Kit unit. Pull the head unit out, install the FM adapter in the back of the stock radio. Remove the plastic plate, intall the Sirius unit. And there you have it. Total cost, under $200. Questions? Ask away! -Craig

It's not hard to install. You should get the FM adapter plug from sirius.com or tssradio.com. If you're putting the unit in a Mazda 5, take the black plate out. The mobile mount that the unit sits on pretty much fits right that spot. I used tape on the inside of the plastic bracket. BTW, I...

WoW, old thread! The dealer made me a key for $14. Opens doors, and glove compartment, and will even turn the ignition to "ON" mode, but car will not start(gun).
