Lube the pivot point - the ball ! Use lubriplate (white lithium) or wheel bearing grease. A very light oiling on the strut rod won't hurt iether ! :D

Sticking Windows On my old 323 the power windows got sluggish and were very slow to close, without assistance. In desparation, I sprayed a little silicone lube down the front and rear channels, and the windows worked like new again ! (drinks)

Metal Drain Plug Washer I'm sure it's just a plain soft aluminum flat washer, and you could probably use a nylon washer that was the same size to seal the plug ! (dunno)
