Thanks for getting back to me folks.
So in answer to the questions: About 40% of it snapped off - basically the portion of the part that holds it in place. I have not been able to find the portion that broke off - although I'm pretty sure I heard it land in the tailgate. That said, I think the...
See attached pictures - this shows the working/no broken passenger-side part. One pic of it near where it hooks into (top view of part) - second shot of the underside of the part - where you see the two screws that hold it in place.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Last night I managed to break the driver's side cargo cover clip on my 2008 Mazda 5. I was already pricing the replacement cover ($143 discounted price) - when I noticed that the clip (which holds the cover in place when it's drawn back over the cargo area) - has two screws on the bottom of it -...
I broke the the driver's side plastic clip that holds the cargo cover in place on my 2008 Mazda5. It has two screws in it and looks very easily replaceable, but Mazda only sells the entire cover for $160+ Anyone have an old cargo cover that they can remove the clip from? I'd happily pay good...
Follow-up on Transmission Replacement
Just an final update to my transmission replacement situation:
The replacement transmission arrived -but a week and a half later than expected. The shop said the used replacement was in decent shape, but they still needed to pull some senors and whatnot...
In retrospect, that might not have been a bad idea. In speaking to the service department, they said that they basically don't go into transmissions. So unfortunately your advise didn't come soon enough. The dealer said there was a temprature related code they pulled and they felt the...
So I'll get more detail when I get the full write up from the dealer - but that won't be for days - but basically it's some kind of torque converter failure- and the transmission is officially shot.(sad1)
My extended warranty offered a used transmission with 46k on it for no cost (of course I...

I was wondering how many miles are on the vehicle? And if you had any further information on the diagnosis. You can see my posting from a few minutes ago on my Mazda5 that's in the shop with a transmission problem too.
My Mazda5 '08 with 96,000 miles on it is sitting at the dealer awaiting a transmission diagnosis today. The "AT" light came on Saturday night - I avoided driving until Monday morning to my trusted garage and they picked up P0744 - Torque Converter Coupling Circuit Intermittent and P0841 -...

Thanks for the response. To answer your good questions:
- Airflow is fine
- a/c compressor stops when a/c stops running, resumes when a/c resumes
- fan is running fine
As it is - I brought it to the local mechanic, who tested the a/c coolant pressure and ran the car idling w/the a/c...
I have a Mz5 2008 with approx. 75,000 miles on it. The A/C has always worked very well. Suddenly today at 88 degree F it got erratic. It stopped blowing cold air (just ambient temp air instead) most of the time. As soon as we were convinced the A/C was absolutely dead - then it would give us a...
