    LS/Vtec

It been done. the ls tranny has long ratios, pretty good on gas mileage. I would probably do it if i choose to do the GSR swap, cuz the civic is my daily commuter.

    LS/Vtec

Most of the time a lot of people or machine shops don't put this swap together right and get oil and coolant leaks. What car are you swapping this into? I was thinking about doing an ls swap for my 00 civic. But will probably just do a gsr or b16 swap instead.

    LS/Vtec

any b series tranny. I used the ls tranny the b18b1, cuz its the cheapest, but its probably the weakest of the b series.

    LS/Vtec

Most people swap it and not build the internals, cuz the swap is relatively cheap compared to a full motor swap. And you are right about the rods. For me the piston rod smashed through my block and pretty much destroyed it. It gave me incredible power in my civic hatch, but I eventually just...

    LS/Vtec

well i had an ls block with a gsr head setup and it blew up after about 10k. Probably from all that high reving and beating the crap out of the car. You can make it super reliable, i just didn't have the money at the time.

    1.6L CAi problems

If you're going to change to the celica Maf, hold off on changing the O2 sensor. Install that MAF, reset the ecu, drive for a few days and see if you still throw the cel. if your car isn't california emission then it should not have an egr, thats weird. you can see if you have one, it is under...

    how to pop the trunk?

I dont know about the universal ones, but I used the trunk pop from a old ford taurus. I made it work and it worked great. i never had any problem with shorts or fires. You must had some crap wiring if it was causing fires. I wired mine with a relay and a fuse.

    1.6L CAi problems

For the misfire on cyc 3, check your spark plug, and wires on that cyclinder and the spark coils. It usually is the wire not make a good contact. I've that that problem before. Change the O2 on the exhaust mani. Is your are a california edition protege? Non cali proteges dont have egr...

    LS/Vtec

yes, done a ls/vtec before. It makes good power, but its not really realiable. It depends on what head you going to use. Use can use any B series Vtec head. Best head for the swap imo is a B16B or B18c5. You would need to modify the ls block and the vtec head for oil. You need a vtec...

    1.6 ZM going forged

^^ what he said. There is less rotational mass to turn, which in turn uses less power from the engine to turn the wheels. Simple physics Lilchild- Good luck finding a carbon hood for a 99-00. And if you do it is around 600. Vis used to make them, but discontinued.

    1.6 ZM going forged

:) never heard of them, so don't know. Not bad price. This one is a chrome-moly one weights about 9lbs. The aluminum one like the aasco and fidanza are 8lbs. But way lighter then the stock which was like 15+lbs. If they had the XTD one back in the day, i would scarafic the 1lbs different and...
