Will there ever be a Skyactiv Mazda5 in Canada?

The Mazda 5 is here for the 2015 model year in Canada, not the USA. But, there are indications that Mazda Japan is not planning on building another Mazda 5 saying that worldwide, the demand for this segment is slowing down. So Mazda doesn't want to build them because less people are buying...

"Mazda5 to be phased out for U.S. in 2015." - Automotive News

I'd like to think of it as having better sense than buying a base model Dodge Grand Caravan. I have a 2000 Odyssey now there in addition to my Mazda 3.

    Mazda5 2012-14 Floor Mats fit 2006-2010?

Glad you found a solution. The OE all weather mats I got for my old 2007 were junk. I went with Weathertechs all weather liners for my Mazda 3, MUCH better. I wish I knew of Findways prior though. A couple of friends went with these and said they hold up really well. They have a carpet look as...

I had to Google it, but I kinda want one now.

"Mazda5 to be phased out for U.S. in 2015." - Automotive News

The Mazda 5 will continue in Canada beyond the 2015 alongside the Chevrolet Orlando and recently redesigned Kia Rondo. There's a market for small people movers in Canada, not so much in the USA.

    13' skyactiv oil change

Overseas Skyactivs use 5W20. You can get a jug of Pennzoil Platinum or Mobil 1 0W20 at Walmart for only $25 though.

BEWARE of Sensen Strut for MAZDA 5

Get KYBs. No complaints from me.

    Mazda3 2014 as a family car?

Why not? Here's me, my two boys (centre and right) and their friend in my 3. Between this and say a 2002 Honda Odyssey, there's no reason to have to go with a midsize. I comfortably slept in the back of my 3 for a few hours on a road trip last year next to my two boys. I'm 6'-1" 210 lb.

Official US EPA mileage on 2.5L sucks

i-Stop doesn't really do much. An idling engine uses about 1 litre or a quarter of a gallon of fuel per hour. i-Stop is only going to improve your gas mileage by maybe two tenths of an mpg. Not worth it unless you combine it with a hybrid drivetrain.

bad mpg with cruise and mid issues

Cruise control is a convenience feature, not a gas saving one. It'll go hard on the throttle going up hills then do everything it can to keep the speed from creeping up going downhill. I hardly ever use cruise anymore, only if my right foot needs a short break. On flat roads though, cruise will...

Commonality of wheel bearing requiring replacement on 2008

My sis in law experienced this with her previous Saab 9-3 Aero. Got rid of it after three bearing replacements. A shame, that 2.8 litre 6 cylinder turbo was a joy to drive, mated to a six speed manual.

    SkyActiv real world fuel consumption

Nice, in line with what I'm getting. Just did a road trip. 41 mpg Vancouver to Kamloops, 50 mpg Kamloops to Canmore. This is using actual fuel filled up.

    My new 2012 Mazda3 Skyactiv

I have 205/60R16 winter tires. They work well enough and oddly doesn't seem to affect my speedometer.

    SkyActiv real world fuel consumption

What's everyone getting on their SkyActiv 3s so far? My all time average is 31 MPG (7.6 L/100km), my wife delivered newspapers for four months which drove up the fuel use a bit. Without it, I can average 33 MPG easy, mix of city and suburban driving. I can regularly do 40-45 MPG on purely...

2012 tail lights -> 2013 tail lights? Will it work?

Seems like a 2013 GS-Sky with Touring Package. It'll probably fit but the button will be non functional.
