I like General AltiMax RT43 tire too and I have a set on our 1998 Honda CR-V. They're the best tires ever for the CR-V in performance、handling、tread-life、noise、and the cost! If I need a set of new tires right now this General AltiMax RT43 would be the one!For set of 4 now through Oct. 31. Good timing for me as I'm about to replace my Yokos!(cool)

How do you like your 225/55R19 99H General AltiMAX RT43 tires so far?For set of 4 now through Oct. 31. Good timing for me as I'm about to replace my Yokos!(cool)
Didn't notice you're getting 225/65R17 tires. Unlike 19", 17" General AltiMAX RT43 is a totally different tire from another popular Continental TrueContact. They're 17s (it's a Touring) and they're fine. They didn't transform the car or anything, but they're quieter than the worn out Yokos and I think they'll wear well.
My point is don't get confuse between these two tires of different sizes as 225/65R17 tires are vast different but 225/55R19 tires are very similar. Personally if I need 17" tires I'd definitely choose General AltiMAX RT43 over Continental TrueContact even with current $70 Visa cash card on Continental. But for 19" they're really a toss-up.Your point?
Take advantage of getting $50 Visa prepaid card for set of 4 General AltiMAX RT43's again now through April 15, 2018.For set of 4 now through Oct. 31. Good timing for me as I'm about to replace my Yokos!(cool)
I bit the bullet and ordered up a set of the General Altimax RT43 tires (H Rated - 130mph)
With the $50 rebate, they come out to $380 plus delivery ($60) or $440
Add another $60 for mounting ($15 per x 4) or $500 total
I wonder if a MPG increase will happen since these tires only weight 25LBS per tire vs OEM which is 26LBS per tire? Or is it just wishful thinking? (uhm)
Do you guys rate General tires when compared to say Michelin or do you consider them a budget brand?
That sucks on the shipping. Did you have to order from them? I got my Nokians for $125ish each, free shipping. That 60 bucks hurts!
Actually General AltiMAX RT43 225/65R17 102H weights even a bit lighter, only 24.3 lbs.I bit the bullet and ordered up a set of the General Altimax RT43 tires (H Rated - 130mph)

General AltiMAX RT43 is very similar to Continental TrueContact if we compare their specs so I suspect they used the same design construction wise. Of course Continental tires from Germany are big in Europe and worldwide as you know.Do you guys rate General tires when compared to say Michelin or do you consider them a budget brand?
My 2016 CX-5 GT AWD comes with 225/55R19 tires.
Akron, Ohio based General Tire was founded in 1915 and its tire and rubber division was sold to Germany's Continental in 1987, and is now known as Continental Tire North America, Inc. Thats why some new General tires are having similar specs with Continental tires.
And just to clarify, for 225/65R17 on General AltiMAX RT43 there's only 102H available now even at TireRack.com. Some of the talks here on T rated are out of date. 225/65R17 102T RT43 actually is a completely different tire from H rated and has the same specs as Continental TrueContact 225/65R17 102T. The maximum inflation pressures between 51 psi on H rated and 44 psi on T rated is a clear indication that T rated RT43 is an older design, hence its discontinued.
