We have vacationed at the Atlantic beach area in North Carolina just south of Cape Hatteras. We love the Outer Banks.

Absolutely nothing. I actually make a point of keeping nothing in the car, except there was about 30 cents in change inside the center armrest...which the thieves kindly left behind. They opened up the glove box and the armrest and found nothing worth taking, so they just left me with a broken window for nothing. Sucks for me...

Well finally got my Cx-5 back from the shop. Total of $14,863 in repairs. Still don't get why they didn't total it but looks great once I get them to fix two things that I assume they caused and replace two simple things the towing yard took off and didn't know what happened to them. Just the battery cover and cover for the shift lock, minor, but hey it went in there with them and I want it back with them lol. Drives great though. Was hoping for a total loss but happy with end result. And now that I have it back. Will be bringing the MS3 to Cp-E to have them build the motor once we finalize the build details.

That sucks!!! Sorry to hear you have to deal with this. Did they damage anything else beyond the window?

Nope, they never opened any of the doors so that the alarm would not go off. I'm guessing they saw a shiny new car and figured there'd be something of worth inside to grab and run.

Not surprised as I have seen many vehicles these days fixed at 90% of value.

Damn sorry to hear that!! Least they left your interior in one piece. This happened to me once with my Mazdasped Protege while at a movie and they couldn't get the factory head unit out (which was a Kenwood), so just decided to break it and trash the interior. I seriously hate people that can't respect people that work for what they have.

Was it parked out near where you live or was this elsewhere? This always reminds me to keep the garage clear so I can park CX in garage. I know not everyone has that option though.

Yep, right in front of my house. My garage is filled with motorcycles, tools and baby crap, so not much room for a car in there unfortunately.

Be wary they might have looked at the address on your insurance to see what they can rob later.
