I have a 06.5 3 with the OEM HU. It does have a Media button as well as SAT.

How can I use an XM receiver thru the radio? I looks like I need some sort of adapter. I know I can not change the channels thru the radio, but I believe I can get the radio display to show the channel and song?

The Mz3 HU only natively supports sirius and not XM like Rotus8 said. There is a module made by Axxess which will allow you to connect a Terk XM receiver and control everything through the HU controls just like the OEM sirius. The Axxess module is not compatible with Mazda HU's made by Clarion, however that's generally only in the '07+ models so you should be fine with a '06 model. The down side is Terk discontinued the XM module so you'd be limited to finding one for sale somewhere. Check out www.therpmstore.com for details on the Axxess module
