Thinking about supercharging my p5.

So I've been doing pretty good at work, getting about 200 in bonuses each pay so I'm junking of treating my p5 to some more power. Just some background it's a 2003 protege5 rebuild title so I don't feel all that bad doing my own work on it. The car is automatic, and while I would prefer a manual I enjoy the sport shift enough that I can live with an auto for a while. Will a supercharger do anything for me or is it just a complete waste of time?

It will work but it would be cheaper and easier to turbo it. And an auto to manual swap will bring a 20-30 whp difference

while turbo might be cheaper ( depends on variables) the Supercharger just sounds so much nicer.
