Steering wheel buttons not working (volume, phone, radio channels).

2008 CX 9 Touring
So I just bought a 2008 CX 9 Touring, and there seem to be a few electrical issues. The buttons on the left side of the steering wheel do nothing. The volume buttons, radio channel buttons, and the phone button all are unresponsive. The cruise control buttons on the right side of the steering wheel work fine, and all of the buttons on the radio unit seem to work fine as well. I'm guessing this could be a fuse? Or maybe those buttons were never installed or wired? I looked in the owners manual and the closest fuses I see are audio fuses unless there is something else that controls steering wheel buttons that I'm not seeing. I checked the audio fuses, and they look fine. I've tried disconnecting the battery with no luck. I've seen this question pop up on these forums with no replies, but I'm hoping someone here has a solution. Thanks.

Sounds like a broken clock spring. Is your airbag light on? even if it's not, my money would be on the clock spring a.k.a. SIR Coil.
