2017 CX-5 Diesel engine compatible with 2013 CX-5?

Just received bad news that my wife's 2013 CX-5 engine is a write off. Searching for 2nd hand replacement has found a low mileage 2019 engine. Is this compatible with a 2013 car? Somebody suggested differences in injector and water systems but don't know whether this is relevant when buying a complete engine with ancillaries. Expert advice very gratefully received. No, you can’t use a 2.2L diesel from 2019 for your 2013 diesel CX-5. One major difference is 2019 diesel uses urea (AddBlue) but not your 2013 diesel. Not to mention there’re many other differences on DPF Regeneration process and emission controls.

Not much you can do other than just take a loss.
