Does anyone know if the version of the 6 disc changer that reads MP3s (which I believe was mostly sold 2006-2008) is compatible with the factory Aux-in jack in 2008-2010 fives?
The model # is 14793842, part # is CC99 79 EGX or CC99 79 EG0.
My single disc player pauses at every minor scratch and I am thinking of replacing it. If upgrading to this version of the 6 disc player wouldn't kill access to the aux jack, I might be tempted.
Also, if anyone has thoughts on where to buy a (used/salvage?) Aux jack (or "CCS Unit" part number starts c29166dfx) for significantly less than dealer price (~$55), I'm in the market. I turns out that there is the tip of a plug broken off unit the jack on the used 5 I bought. So far I haven't succeeded in pushing it out from the back.
I've tried messaging some of the sellers on eBay who are selling the headunits if they have the aux jack available, but so far no one has responded.
Between that and the bad CD player, I'm listening to more FM radio than I would like.
