no as usual Ill get straight to the point.
1997 mazda 323 engine blown, it is a 16 valve engine very basic. i need to find a new engine in munster Ireland, but am not sure exactly what years engines will do the job.
originally i tried putting in a 1.5 dohc mazda 323 engine from a 1996 323,
that didnt go well, mechanically everything fit, however my wiring harness didnt have enough plugs on the engine side, so i used the 1.5 harness, which worked all up until the 3 plugs coming off the end of the loom just before the ecu plugs, were completely differnt to the plugs behind my ecu, not even colour coded, or the same amount of wires.
GREAT!
so i thought fine ill take out the dash, took out the dash to replace the harness with the harness from behind the dash of my 1.5 doner car..............
NO completely differnt plugs at every turn. no color code anywhere. so no hope of rewiring it.
so basically a 1 year difference and a 2oocc differnce completely failed.
so i am cautious as to what year 1.3 will fit in my poor car. any help appreciated
