The Mrs. just got a 2014 CX-5 Sport. She is not happy with the style of cargo net that lays horizontally. Looking for some suggestions on a way to attach a different type net and also ways to hook or contain plastic/cloth grocery bags. Any help out there?

I use something like this.

It's great for holding all the little things or grocery bags. There's even velcro on the bottom to let it stick to the carpet and not slide around. One of the best features is that you can fold the compartments individually, so if you only need one side, you can collapse the other to make room for other things. You can also collapse the entire box and stick it under the floor with the spare tire.

The last time I was at Ikea, I came across these bedroom clothes boxes, which is another cheap option for collapsible cargo boxes.

I have the OEM net but also use these:

I've also gotten a 3-pack of these Rubbermaid mobile cargo bins for less than $20 at Costco.

I had a vertical type cargo net in my miata and found it useless. I agree with a poster above - get a cargo organizer that holds grocery bags and keeps things from rolling around...

I had some time to look at old posts and came across this one. This could be the one that will work for her. https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)

This looks pretty nice. Debating between this one or the shorter version.

The 38" one fits almost perfectly between the wheel wells and it's about as wide as them too so the fit is good. However with the 25" one you've obviously got more space for bulky items. Decisions, decisions....

I have the shorter Rola. It fits front to back and leaves the other side open. I often am laying down a rear seat to carry longer items and it is not in the way.

Yeah same thing occurred to me so I went with the shorter as well. Nice to know you are happy with it.

Perhaps you could get one made for the Forester to work?

I have a net like that left over from mt last car. The problem is there are no hooks to attach it to the top part of the net. I have tried sticky tape 3m hooks and they work for a bit but then I put something in it and one of them will come undone and fly across the back of the car. I would like to drill an eyehook into the plastic but I am afraid I will ruin the car or it will pull the plastic apart. I really want my cargo net back.

Jayally, I am in the same situation. Uses to have a Rav4 and the net worked perfectly in the back. I too don't want to put any additional holes in cargo area. I am going with the Rola 59001. Thanks to all who gave their suggestions.

My 59000 should be coming today or tomorrow. Let's both post picks for comparison sake.

I just got the larger size Rola. It fits the cargo area nicely and has a some weight to it so it does not shift around. I have the OEM all weather mats. Unfortunately, I cant figure how to post pictures. When I figure it out I will post.

Posting pictures in the text is pretty easy. You need to find the picture that you want from online or upload them to your album on the forum and get the URL for the picture that ends in JPG. Copy that URL and then in the click on the little icon that looks like a frame with a tree in it and paste the URL into the pop up box

Here is a shot of the larger Rola. It is heavy enough that it does not move around in the cargo area. It is sitting on a OEM mat. Thank you Ride92

Just a quick update. The Mrs. loves the Rola. It does not shift around and fits in pretty good in the cargo area. As they say " When she's happy, I'm happy"
