Has anyone put a Protege5 shift knob in a 6?

I put a leather shift knob from a Protege5 in my Protege, and I liked the feel. Just wondering if it will thread on and sit right in a 6. I might also get a short shifter at some point. I'd assume the threading would be the same as the stock lever.

i think i may still have a kartboy knob around here somewhere, so i could check for you nate(if i can find it)

nevermind. i no longer have that...i sold it when i bought the ms6

looking around, it seems that the thread pattern is the same... so I guess my only question is whether it will mate up well with the 6 boot

Why would you do that? I like the 6's more.
I used to own a p5 and the marking for the gears are diferent to boot!

personal preference & I wanted to try it

and the gear markings are the same - I have a V6 5-speed

1 3 5
2 4 R

so it works and it feels great!

not quite as "flashy" without the metal accents, but it does match well with the seats and steering wheel

I think now I need a nicer boot!
