Engine and AT lights on

Hi guys, I was driving my mazda 6 2006 in highway, and suddenly I got stuck on 3rd gear with AT and engine lights on, I could not go to 4th or 5th gear, then I pulled over and turned off the engine for 2 minutes and the started it again, AT light was gone but engine light was still on, I drove home and every thing with transmission was just fine, the next morning I started my car and I saw the engine light was gone. I checked the transmission fluid, it was pink and full. Any suggestion what the problem can be?

One of my cars had a fault and the engine went into self preservation mode. I stopped and restarted just like you did and it went away. My mechanic pulled the code and it was a misfire but hasn't happened again in 2 years.
