Built in Japan and sharing nothing with its former cousin, the Ford Fusion, the 2014 Mazda6 is the best midsize Mazda ever. Period. Is it best in class? Stay tuned.
With the Sport model 6mt, Mazda is a bit cheap here - no color screen or rear camera, while a base Civic offers these. I guess this particular model exists solely to advertise the low entry price - it'll be very hard to find on the lot.
Yes, they did share the same platform. Really, I think it was the way it was written that got me annoyed. They have to bring up the fact that it use to be a cousin of the Fusion. Why? Mazda's already has a challenge in selling enough cars to compete with the big guys, they don't need magazines reminding people that they were allied with Ford. I know several people who won't even look at a Mazda because they still think they are associated with Ford, when that couldn't be farther from the truth. They have virtually broken all ties with Ford, but the stigma of Ford in some peoples minds, is still hurting them.
