Cobb Accessport Dongle vs. No Dongle

To my understanding there are two versions of the Cobb AP (one is newer)

The one with the dongle is older and one without is newer. Is there any difference to the two besides the one without the dongle uploading and flashing maps faster than the one with?

That is the difference.

The newer AP takes several more recordings than the first generation. I am not sure of the number but it is at least 4 times as many. My logs on the second gen are at least 4 times longer than the first gen versions in the same time frame.
