Borla fabrication, thoughts?

My last car was an SVT Focus. I bought a new Borla "flex-back" exhaust for it this spring, and managed to get it off the Focus right after it was totaled. It is not a direct bolt-on to the Mazda, as the engine intake and exhaust are swapped sides (Zetec vs Duratec). I already tried seeing how/if it would bolt right up to the Mazda, but it won't completely, here's how:

The MZ3 (or MS3, I don't know) has two little resonators right where the front passengers compartment is, whereas the Focus had one long (14") resonator. The exhaust extends about another foot from the first MZ3 reso., showing that the SVT exhaust will come up short to the Mazda's header/piping.
Everything else fits identical, with the exception of a much larger rear muffler (Focus design is more oval, and Mazda is more like a big cylinder, and fits tighter).

Do you think it would be a good plan to just cut both little MZ3 resos out, use some smaller tubing/joint to match up to the Mazda's header? and then use the rest of the Focus exhaust (since the Focus/3 basic chassis are the same, the rest of the exhaust will fit identically).

Here are some reference pictures & installation instructions:

[NOTE the size of the rear muffler...still fits, just bigger (no other reference meant here...)]

My main drive behind this is because no one wants to buy my SVTF Borla exhaust, even though it has less than 3,000 miles on it
Good idea?

I think it is worth a shot, afterall you already spent the money. Worst case you hack up the SVT exhaust and use the muffler/res to get a better than stock sound.

I just hate to cut up my beautiful new Borla lol I couldn't give a daamn about the 3's stock exhaust
