Aux mode is not working

I have a 2011 CX-9 with basic stereo. There is an Aux button, along with CD, SAT, and AM/FM. I press the Aux button and nothing happens. I plugged in an iPod in the console but cannot change to Aux. I ran through the mode button on the steering wheel, but there is no Aux or SAT choice. Any ideas?

The last guy who had this problem on this forum decided to live without the aux jack and didn't want to pay the dealer to figure it out.
My advice: remove your radio (see other thread on how to do that) and see if perhaps the connector is loose on the back of the radio.
