2003 Mazda Protege5
Hey I am looking to find out the stock amps that a 2003 mazda protege5 can handle in the alternator. I cant seem to find this anywhere... thank you

I'm not sure that makes any sense. What do you mean by the stock amps it can handle?

The factory wiring is made to handle the alternator that is currently on the car, if you go any bigger you will need to run additional grounds and positive runs to the battery depending how large of an alternator you go.

I have a 140 amp on my car.

Stock is 80 amp. If you are running a lot of things in your vehicle like extra aux lights, large system, car pc, etc I would probably upgrade to a 140 amp. A bit more money but worth it. My brother has been running one for two years now with no problems. I will be looking into one soon as well as my system and many other components I will be adding will be drawing a lot more than the car was designed to from stock. I do a lot of night driving. Look into the "Big 3" as well which is what exalted somewhat described.
