to aid with the much bitched about searching allow users to add keywords to posts to characterize the content. then use these tags to add a weighting factor to the search results instead of the stick the search term in a where clause and sorty by date that it seems like it returns now. many blog and wiki pieces of software do similar things, sometimes allowing only the author to add keywords, sometimes allowing anyone. in this community i think it is best to allow anyone to add tags as topics often change
