2022 CX-5 Soft cargo liner

Does anyone know if the soft cargo liner (0000-8K-R06A - listed as fitting 2017-2021) that fits over the back of the rear seats fits the 2022? Getting conflicting info. My dealer can't verify but the parts dept says that part is changed for 2022 and no longer fits over the rear seat backs. I wonder if they're referring to the cargo tray which has changed for 2022 and carries a new part number (KSC2-V0-360). I was really wanting something that fit over the rear seat backs.

I have one on my 2020 GT and plan to use it on my 2022 Signature when it arrives. It won't fit perfectly with the cargo floor set in the new higher position so I would imagine Mazda would spec a new part.

The 2022 has a higher position in the cargo floor?

Where is the info on that, and I wonder why they would bother to change that detail.

Parenthetically, we use that part number on our 2021 Signature. We haul planting materials from time to time and it helps. You still have to cover the wheel well sides of the cargo area, but otherwise the nylon like canvas (heavy backpack material) seems to work well. The cutouts allow use of the child seat anchors and cargo hooks.

On the 2022 models the rear cargo floor is now split into 2 panels instead of the one large piece from previous years. That gives you the option of using those panels as before or you can reposition them to create a surface that is level with the rear hatch opening and the seats when they are folded flat.

I guess I would have to see how the panels work to tell you. The soft cargo liner is anchored to the rear seat backs with lots of velcro, and the head rest posts, although the cargo liner is not moving even if you remove the head rests, that is how much velcro there is. Velcro is then used on the carpet of the cargo floor to keep the cargo liner anchored. There is also a flap or tail that is long enough to cover the bumper for loading things in and out. You can still lift up the panel to access the spare tire and tools if you need to without removing the soft cargo liner.

Installation Directions

While it won't be perfect I'm not anticipating a problem using my current cover with the higher floor settings: if it extends an inch longer that won't matter, and the side "wings" will not be flush with the 2 little hatch covers but that shouldn't impair any functionality.

At 09:30 below you can see how the panels work. Although Jadon doesn't show the floor in the lowest position it's essentially the same as before.

Not OEM but there is always the Canvasback option

I like the options they offer for different colors and patterns, but Canvasback charges $35 extra for the rear bumper flap which is included in the Mazda cover... so $235 vs. $100.

Canvasback is stating that their liner fits 2022 models so it will be interesting to see what Mazda comes up with.

I decided to go with the carpeted mat instead of the liner and confirmed that there's a new part number for 2022, but that it isn't available yet - even to order. Dealers have said to try them again in several weeks. They don't think there will be a 2022 cargo liner.

According to Mazda, part 0000-8K-R06A fits the 2022 models as well:

To see how it fits I've included images taken in my 2022 Signature model with the floor in the raised position, which puts it higher up in the cargo compartment and therefore extends the fabric slightly rearward. Please excuse the wrinkles as its been in storage after removal from my 2020 GT. Some of the material can be tucked into the crease between the floor and seat-backs so it only extends about an inch further back than it would in the original lower position. You can also see how the little side "wings" end up short of the outboard edges of the cubby panels by an inch or so, but still allow access, as do all of the other cut-out flaps.

The 2022 cx-5 is a hassle trying to get a cargo liner for some reason. I am in the market. I ordered a husky liner but the one that arrived is not what I ordered.. Now I am nervous in buying another husky. I have gone with Weathertech for liners in my truck.. I like them a lot.. bug dang they are expensive..

I sometimes have to haul a gas can etc, so the high lip is important to me to contain spills. I just ran across a honeycomb design. I havent seen these in person.. It might be a good way to go..
Does anyone have any experience with such a liner? https://sparklinesauto.com/products/cargo-liners/fl01117036.html

With the cargo panel set in the low position it's the same as the 2017-2021 except for those side rails that are on the '22s for adjustability, so I'd Imagine on a fitted rubber liner the design would have to have some sort of indentations there to allow for a proper fit.

Just got the soft cargo liner (0000-8K-R06A) for my 2022. It covers the back of the rear seats just fine. I had the OEM all weather rubber cargo mat (tray?) and cargo net that came with the car when I purchased it. So, rather than remove them, I just placed them on top of the cargo liner. Although, I’ll remove the net when not needed. Works for me.
