2009 Mazda 5 Touring
A few weeks ago I picked up a 2009 Touring 5. I found the Ipod connectivity among other things fairly archaic(lol2) so I decided to install the Pioneer AVH-4400BT from my previous vehicle in the 5. Had to pic up a new steering wheel control input adapter, the standard metra faceplate and connectors to make the switch. At the same time I decided to upgrade a bit, incorporating the optional AVIC U220 navigation ad on and an XM receiver along with new Polk Db-5251 component 5.25 inch speakers front and rear and a 10" Kicker powered sub.

Very nice! I want to switch my OEM radio to an aftermarket one but since I have OEM navi, no one can give me a straight answer whether my navi will not work if I remove my stock radio.

According to Crutchfield it seems you lose the navi if you replace the headunit. If nothing else, I'd assume a control button is probably part of the dash you wind up replacing with the dash kit to install an aftermarket.
