What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Gave her the first polish of her life. What a difference it made in the paint. The missus could do her makeup off the side of her if she wanted now. xD
Never had time to wax because it was getting dark by the time I finished polishing, but I'll do that tonight after work.

I must say, the orbital buffer I bought made this job a lot easier. Would have been nice if it was a smidge lighter though, arms almost falling off by the end of it, hahaha.

Removed the dash Polk speakers, because one it had a rattly/scratchy sound at high volume. Most likely it is blown. It couldn't handle the power. It is connected in parallel with the main speaker, which I don't think it is a good idea anyway.
When I push down on the cone, I can hear the scratchy sound. Most likely, the winding is touching some metal in there.
Friday, one of my Polk amps (4 channel one) failed. This weekend, I have repaired it. Luckily, only one final transistor failed. Just for good measure, I have replaced both of them(there are 2 per channel). I'm back in business.
I'm wondering now, that maybe this Polk speaker blew it for me.

Some stuff from Aliexpress, I am surprised by the quality, they are from metal except the ones for the seat adjustment buttons, didn't expected that. I my opinion it looks good, I had to add some more double sided tape to be sure they stays put.

I added a Thule (Motion XT L) cargo carrier. Fits perfect and looks great. Heading out to Glacier National Park later this summer. Looking forward to getting some highway miles in!

How did you figure out (which) one of your power transistors failed? Yeah it's very likely the failed power transistor caused the blown-out Polk dash speaker. Kudos to you as you're one of the very few nowadays can and is willing to do component repairs on electronic equipments! (cool)

To add to the cargo box theme, threw my Thule Force box on today and drove 600 miles to Goodyear AZ. Also had a clear bra installed two days ago.

How's your fuel economy with having that on your roof (uhm)

Well, I had my wife and my 19 and 15 year old kids in the car, a large cooler, 3 suitcases (all in the car) plus an EZ up, 3 folding camping chairs, a foldable wagon and two baseball bags in the roof box, AC on (it's 115 in AZ today) and I got 23.9 mpg, all freeway going 75 ish. Not bad at all.

Replaced my AT shifter switch. You can see the old one (pic 3) is worn and was actually tearing away.

Very simple, you use the diode tester function and start measuring, each final transistor's legs between them, the one that beeps continuously, it is bad.
This is my hobby, I even make money out of it.
I have just repaired a Benq projector and sold it. Onkyo receivers, sometimes Kenwood nav units, some laptops, I used to repair LCD/LED TVs, probably more than 100.
I always like to thinker with electronics.
By the way, I have picked up both Polk amps(PA660.4 & PA880) broken from Ebay, for around $40 each and I have repaired them.

After crawling under my recently acquired '16 GT to change oil/filter, I discovered the two removable access covers normally attached to the engine "undercover", were both missing! So, after much searching online for these covers (no local Dealer), i finally found "Real Mazda parts" had both oems for $23 total w/shipping. Installed 'em yesterday.

Used to think the same when I had my truck, but now that I have the CX-5.... I will be buying something similar for when i drive up to Michigan this winter. I use the back cargo space for my dogs and the seats for "3 day bag" and car entertainment. A CX-9 would be overkill and a waste of money 98% of the time, just like my truck was.
