What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Love it.

Also got a smoking deal at REI on the box. Was trying to decide between the Thule and the Yakima. They were pretty comparable but the Yakima was $20 cheaper AND had an additional 15% off on top of that. Ended up saving about $100, score!

How much did it end up costing you? For the crossbars and the Yakima? Looking to do both in the future.

How do I post pictures? I recently installed a trailer hitch and cant figure out how to add pics to the post (on iPhone Safari). Or do I need to post on computer or Full Site Mode? Thanks.

The weather was nicer yesterday, so I finally installed the in-channel window visors I bought last month. Here are a couple of pics from this morning (sorry the car is dirty lol).

Pretty happy with them, install was a breeze. I also like the additional coverage by the side mirror. IMO these look way better than the ones that attach to the outside of the door.

What brand are those? I absolutely LOATHE the ones that attach with double sticky tape.

I had WeatherTech brand ones on my old Mazda MPV van and am getting WeatherTech ones for my Ford Excursion... But WeatherTech doesn't offer a set for the CX-9.

The brand is Fresh air peterburg (Made and shipped from Taiwan). See below link but currently out of stock. I ordered the last one and just installed it yesterday. They go back in stock every few weeks.

phxzoom - Looks amazing. What products did you use (assuming you did a polish/wax/etc)

Hi sm1ke, how firmly is your wind deflectors staying in place and how long did it take to fully set? Mines have been installed about 48 hours now but when I move window down, the deflector seems to move slightly on all the windows so just worried if this is normally or if mines has not set properly. Just worried they will fall off when driving with windows down or when going through car wash.

Thanks!!! It was quite a daunting task with the 110+ degree weather we got hit here during the weekend... thank god for my covered garage!!!

I went with Mothers California Gold Clay Kit and followed it with their California Gold 3 step Ultimate Wax System (polish, glaze/sealant, wax). Each application took me about an hour and a half; but it’s well worth it. I have paid to get detailed before, but no one will ever take better care of your vehicle than yourself. Results are not even close between taking it to a shop or detailing it myself. I finished up with a little Mothers Metal Mag and Aluminum Polish for the exhaust tips.

Good thing about our dry Phoenix weather is that the treatment sticks for a long time, so detailing it twice a year is more than enough for me. I also use their Instant Detailer after each wash (usually monthly).

The rear visors on mine were a little finicky at first, mainly because I installed them in -10c weather like a dummy lol. When the weather warmed up, I installed the fronts and reinstalled the rears with the extra 3M tape they supply in the repair kit that comes in the package.

The fronts are holding up great. The rears don't stick as well on the sides (B pillar and C pillar), but they are stuck on pretty good on top. I don't know if this is because of the initial install in the cold, but they were perfectly fine on the drive from Calgary to Winnipeg (~12 hours @ 100-120kph). For about two hours total, we coasted along at 80-100kph with the windows open, and I didn't notice any issues or rattles with any of the visors (wifey, who was riding in the 2nd row with the baby, didn't notice anything either).

I wouldn't recommend going through an automatic car wash with them though, but I believe all brands and types of window visors advise that you shouldn't go through an automatic wash with visors installed. None of my cars go through automatic car washes anyway, but that's just because I've heard too many horror stories and seen enough evidence first hand to deter me from ever going to one again. Actually, I worked at an automatic wash for two days just to find out how they work and what the wash maintenance is like. Quit on the third day, lol.

Nice! Did you use anything for the black trim? Also, did you notice a build up of road grime on the chrome trim near the bottom of the doors?

I didn’t use anything on the black trim pieces; those were dressed up at the shop where I took it to get washed. It’s a hand car wash shop, and they do a decent job. I usually just get home for some finishing touches with the instant detailer or get anything that they may have missed. Not sure what dressing they use on plastic/tires. I was just careful not to apply any polish/glaze/wax on the plastic trim to avoid leaving any marks and/or taking away their treatment.

Didn’t find a lot of build up at the bottom of the doors as that’s one of the spots I usually double check and retouch when I get home from the car wash. Every now and then I use some bug and tar remover on the bumper and lower end all around to take any grime off before taking it to the car wash. There are bunch of those available too. Lifter-1 is my favorite; but I’ve used the Rain-X product as well.

Went camping and MTB riding so had to give my Signature the rugged outdoors look. Crossbars, roof basket, and a bike hitch for the rugged look. [emoji7]

Looks pretty cool stompercool. I really like the darker wheels on the 18's.

That's a great anniversary present, Howay! I like what you've done so far. I especially like how the dark tint goes with jet black.

Thanks! It is definitely making a difference in this crazy heat wave we’ve been getting in NJ. I’m sure it’s nothing compared to what you guys get out there in AZ but it’s hot for us!
