I think he means one of those clutch pedal stops. It goes behind the clutch pedal so that when you push down on the pedal, it hits the stopper before it hits the floor. I have heard that these are not a good idea since the clutch is not fully depressed... I don't have any first hand experience/knowledge about them though. I just remember reading about these on the Bimmer boards...

Anyway back to the topic, the clutch stop is used to shorten compression between gears, and takes stress off the spring. IF nobody has one installed then forget it
