Mazda3 Yakima Roof Rack Install?

So, has anybody installed a Q tower system on a 3 wagon yet? I'm trying to do one on a '05 for a customer, and the rear towers aren't getting tight.

Any thoughts?

Well assuming the Q towers are made for the 3.....are you reading the instructions, there is the lil knob you can turn that will adjust how tight the clips should grip.

Q towers are Universal. Clips are for specific cars. We have the correct clips, and with the measurements set to spec it didn't work. If you tighten the little knob all the way, the clip feels tight, but the tower practically hovers over the roof.

We solved it, though, buy moving the rear towers in a half an inch.

If anybody finds this post while trying to install one of these racks, the "M3" measurement (space between rear towers) should be 40", not 40 1/2".
