When I rev my car up past about 4500 rpm's, Or when I go to pass someone on the road and I really get on the gas I get a high pitched squeal coming from...............somewhere. Me and a friend tried to figure out where it was coming from today. And we couldn't find it. I thought maybe it's a loose belt or something. But it doesn't seem to be coming from under the hood. I can't figure it out. I don't know if this is normal.....but I haven't heard it before. Amyone know what this could be?

Could it be coming from your altenator? (uhm)
did you check your belts at all, even tho it doesnt sound like its coming from there??? thats the only thing i can really think of that would do that in those circumstances. although it could possibly be your transmission. my old 92 protege's tranny made some wierd sounds before it blew, more like grinding instead of squealing tho, but it was pretty abused.
